Zanzibar Honeymoon

Zanzibar Honeymoon time comes once in a lifetime for many and this honeymoon safari is perfect for the newlyweds who would wish to spend their honeymoon in Africa. Day 1: Arrival Day

You will arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be welcomed by Leken Adventure representative who will usher you into a waiting vehicle and transfer you to Peace Hotel in Arusha. The representative will have a short safari briefing session with you at the hotel and leave you to relax and have dinner.

Day 2: Safari from Arusha to Lake Manyara

On the second day of your tour, you will have breakfast in the morning and leave for Arusha town where you will do some shopping if you wish and also have a chance to change some money to get local currencies which may be useful in the lodges / tented camps, especially for tipping and paying extras. You will then drive to through the Masai steppe, and into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park.

Here you will register at the park gate and go for a short game drive before driving to the lodge / tented camp for hot lunch. You will then relax until later in the afternoon before you go to the park again for a sunset game drive. This beautiful national park is popular for its evergreen forests that harbor among other animals like elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, gazelles, and many others.

More legendary here are the tree climbing lions. If you are lucky, you will spot them as well. At the lake, you will have an eye feast of aquatic birds like flamingos, pelicans, little grebes, Egyptian geese, etc. Late in the afternoon before dark, you will return to Farm House Valley Lodge at Karatu for a shower, dinner, and an overnight stay. All meals are included today.

Day 3: Safari from Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

This morning you will wake up rather early. After breakfast, you will take off to the world-famous Serengeti National Park which is also the oldest and biggest of all parks in Tanzania. You will have a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge where Dr. Louise and his wife, Mary Leakey, made tremendous discoveries of human fossils, the Australopithecus Boisei. This discovery led to the theory by scientists that Africa is the cradle of mankind. You will enter Serengeti via Naabi Hill gate.

On reaching Serengeti, you will go on with game drives with a picnic lunch served on the way. Serengeti plains are home to an array of large and small animal’s alike as well as large numbers of birds’ species. Among the animals, present includes zebras, elephants, baboons, impalas, topis, buffaloes, and recently introduced black rhinos. Later in the afternoon, you will reach the lodge where you will relax for the evening. You will have your dinner at Kisura Serengeti Camp where you will stay overnight for a fancy out-of-Africa feeling.

Day 4: Safari in Serengeti plains

On this day you may decide to do an early morning game drive at day break or relax until after breakfast. After all, you are on holiday. Either way, you may decide on going for game drives in the Serengeti plains or watching the Great Migration of the wildebeests.

You may choose to carry a lunch box with you or do a morning session of game drives then relax at your lodge / tented camp for the afternoon. A sunset game drive is a nice way to wind up this day. Alternatively, you can go for a walking safari that resides outside the park. You will have your dinner at Kisura Serengeti Camp where you will stay for the night.

Day 5: Safari From in the Ngorongoro Crator

In the morning, you will go to the world’s largest caldera that harbors the greatest concentration of animals in a confinement of its 600-meter-deep walls. After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will re-enter the conservation Area via Naabi Hill Gate and after some registration formalities at the Descent point, you will go down the breathtaking road to the floor of this world renowned ‘world heritage site’ that was declared by UNESCO.

Once at the crater, you will do a wonderful game drive with packed lunch served at the hippo pool-side picnic site. This is the only place that you are almost certain of spotting the Big Five in one place on one day. Other animals include hyenas, silver backed jackals, elands, hartebeests, wildebeests, gazelles, impalas as well as rare ungulates like the long-necked gerenuks.

Later in the afternoon, you will ascend up the crater walls because no lodges / tented camps are allowed in the crater. You will have your dinner at Endoro Lodge in Keratu where you will stay for the night.

Day 6: Safari back to Arusha

After breakfast at the lodge, it is time for you to get a fully paid complimentary massage at the Massage Spa. If you wish to do so, then you will be on your way to Arusha where you will take your flight to the island of Zanzibar. On your arrival, you will be met by the representative who will welcome you to the island and transfer you to the beach hotel. Your dinner will be at the Pongwe Beach Hotel on the beaches of Zanzibar.

Day 7 to 11: Zanzibar Beach Vocation

You will spend these days at the beach choosing between the numerous water sports on offer at the resort or just relaxing on the hotel and the beach. Your dinner and overnight will be at the Pongwe Beach Hotel on the beautiful Pongwe beach line which has been recognized as one of the best beaches in Zanzibar and the world.

Day 12: Zanzibar transfer to Airport

After breakfast at the Zanzibar beach resort, Leken Adventure will transfer you to the airport to take your flight back home with fond memories of your honeymoon safari in Tanzania.
