DAY 2: ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast your guide will pick you up from Peace Hotel to begin your safari adventure. Today you will visit Arusha National Park, the closest national park to Arusha Town, a mere 40 minutes’ drive. The entrance gate at Arusha National Park leads into lush montane forest inhabited by boisterous Sykes blue monkeys, large troops of baboons and the lucky visitor may get a glimpse of the beautiful black and white Colobus monkeys.
In a few hours game drive, visitors will encounter a myriad of wildlife from a family of giraffe quietly browsing along the grassy hills, to zebras and waterbucks grazing on the plains of the little Serengeti to large herds of wallowing buffaloes. Have a picnic lunch overlooking the blue green Momela Lakes which often attract thousands of flamingos giving the lakeshore a beautiful pinkish hue. In the afternoon, head back to Arusha
Accommodation: Peace Hotel on Full Board basis
DAY 3: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK.
This morning after breakfast, your guide will pick you up and begin heading directly to Tarangire National Park about two hours’ drive from Arusha. Tarangire has superb game viewing from June to late October or early November during the dry season when the wildlife in the surrounding area congregate around the shrinking Tarangire River, the only water source in the Tarangire ecosystem making for great game viewing.
Tarangire is known for its iconic baobab trees and also for its massive elephant herds. Don’t be surprised to see herds of upwards of 200-300 elephants in the height of the dry season lining up on the river bank. Overnight will be at the. CAMP SITE on full board basis
DAY 4: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.
Today we head to Lake Manyara National Park approximately 1.5 hours away and spend the day game driving through the lush groundwater forest. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree climbing lions although the likelihood of seeing lions on a tree is greater in the Serengeti than at Manyara due to the dense forest making visibility difficult.
Birdlife is abundant as are the number of baboons and other primates! Optional cultural activities are available at the village of Mto wa Mbu located just outside of Lake Manyara National Park including tour of banana farms, local markets and local village life.
Accommodation at Panorama Camp site
DAY 5: NGORONGORO CRATER & ARUSHA
Today, begin your day early departing from PANORAMA CAMP at 6am and head straight to the Crater to begin game driving to escape the crowds that can gather later in the morning. The Crater is your best opportunity to see the highly endangered black rhino so spend some time scanning the horizon with your binoculars and to try spot one.
Enjoy a picnic breakfast watching an African sunrise and then spend the day exploring the world famous Ngorongoro Crater often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden. Encompassing an area of only 265 sq/ km, the dense concentration of wildlife in a confined area allows for incredible game viewing and photo opportunities. Depart from the Crater in the afternoon and begin heading back to Arusha. Visit curio shops enroute if time allows.
