5 Days Serengeti Migration
5 Days Serengeti Migration will allow you to witness plains of the amazing Serengeti. On a five day Wildebeest Migration safari you will visit three major Tanzanian national parks starting Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Park, spend almost three days in Serengeti National park.
Tanzania Tour Safari finish with a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. This is a luxury tour using Ang’ata Tented Camps in the Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Crater area. Tanzania Budget Camping and medium lodges and camps are available.
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Depart from Arusha at 8am and drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
Picnic lunches will be set on some of the picnic sites in the proximity of wildlife.
We will enter Lake Manyara National Park, a photographer’s paradise for game viewing. Expect to see a park teeming with wildlife including the famous tree climbing lions resting in acacia trees. From your vehicles, you will have a marvelous view of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, sparkling in the sun. Picnic lunches will be set on some of the picnic sites in the proximity of wildlife.
Dinner and overnight in the campsite/lodge according to the type of accommodation options requested.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will start our drive past the unique and gorgeous Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the famous Oldupai Gorge also known as The Cradle of Mankind to the Serengeti National Park.
The gorge lies on the same spot where once lay an ancient lake, which was covered by thick layers of volcanic ash, which carefully preserved the world’s earliest records of mankind. This extremely important prehistoric site was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey and the exhibitions from different periods in its history are on display in the Oldupai Gorge Museum, located on the gorge’s rim. Our visit will also include the famous Masai bomas, where you will be able to meet the Masai people and get to know their culture and habits. Upon entering the Serengeti National Park for your game drive, the most intriguing and yet amazing African landscape rolls before your eyes. Here you will experience African wildlife in all its glory.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
At 06:00 h we will start the sunrise game drive. You will be accompanied by the melodic singing of the birds while searching for leopards and lions hunting for their morning meal and contradistinction calm hippos, returning to their watery homes with their family. We will return to the campsite or lodge, where we will enjoy a late breakfast at 9:00 am. We will continue our game drive at 10:30 am and stay in the wilderness for the rest of the day. Our safari drive will continue according to the time of year and we will follow the animals on their trail. Dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park according to the standard and the type of accommodation requested from our options.
Day 4: Serengeti NP – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will start with a morning game drive and then head towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The highlight of the expedition will be a game drive in the Serengeti. As far as the eye can see, thousands upon thousands of animals in herds, wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators. You will be able to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself, the lion. While game viewing, we will proceed with picnic lunches, Dinner and overnight on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast, we will proceed to Ngorongoro crater for a full-day game drive. From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, descending down into the crater, you will enjoy amazing panoramic view and if you are lucky, you will see the Big five. The caldera exhibits more than 120 species of mammals. We will also visit saline lakes such as Lake Magadi, which is a magnet for flamingos and other water birds. We will also see pools full of hippos, the endangered East African black rhino as well as birds such as the secretary bird, the white stork arriving from Europe during the wet season and kori bustards, crowned cranes and ostriches. It is for sure a landscape of sheer beauty. Another big drawing card to this picturesque park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which can require the trained eye of your guide to spot. Thereafter, we will drive back to your Arusha lodge.
