Tanzania Safari 8 Days
Tanzania Safari 8 Days during this safari you will witness National Parks in North Tanzania, the best destination for safari. You will visit Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti two nights and Ngorongoro. Airport transfers and overnights in Arusha at the beginning and end of the safari are included.
Day 1: Arusha Town
Kilimanjaro airport – Arusha 1 h transfer
Activities: Town tour with local guide.
Program: Your safari guide is waiting for you at Kilimanjaro airport. Transfer to Arusha by private car for overnight in town. If you have time you can have a town tour.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Transfer Arusha – Tarangire NP is around 2 h.
Activities: game viewing.
Program: After breakfast proceed to Tarangire National Park for game viewing with picnic lunch.
The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons.
Day 3: Manyara National Park
Transfer Tarangire – Manyara is around 1.5 h.
Activities: game viewing.
Program: After breakfast drive to Manyara National Park for game drives with picnic lunch.
Lake Manyara NP size is only 330 sq. km (127 sq. miles), of which up to 200 sq. km (77 sq. miles) is lake when water levels are high. This small but scenic safari park is excellent for bird-watching and a good area to find elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos etc. as well as the potential excitement of spotting a legendary Lake Manyara tree-climbing lions. You can get off the vehicle at the Hippo pool, stretch your legs and see the hippos very close.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Transfer Manyara – Ngorongoro gate is around 1 h.
Activities: game viewing.
Program: After breakfast we can visit Mto wa Mbo or Karatu village, then we drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park with packed lunch, game viewing en-route.
Serengeti, over 6,000 square miles of sprawling, unspoiled landscape is quite a sight. Add to that an extraordinary population of resident and migratory animals in a constant bid for survival, and you understand why this is often called, “the world as it was in the beginning.” As soon as you enter the park, wildlife viewing begins. Search for leopard and lion. Watch in awe as zebra, wildebeest and elephant simply appear from amidst the woodlands and plains.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Activities: game viewing.
Program: You have a full day exploring the Serengeti National Park. The day is dedicated to game drives in the park and you can experience early morning game drive. Serengeti is the “Endless plain” and there is a lot you can see and explore. You can have picnic or hot lunch.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro
Activities: game viewing.
Program: After breakfast you start a game drive in Serengeti. Today you have picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon you drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing en-route.
It’s another full day dedicated to game drives.
Day 7: Ngorongoro crater
Activities: game viewing.
Program: After breakfast, or before breakfast with breakfast boxes, we drive to Ngorongoro crater in early morning for game viewing with picnic lunch.
The park is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called Africa’s Eden and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’ a visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries.
In early afternoon we leave the crater and proceed to Arusha.
Day 8: Arusha to airport.
Program: After breakfast shopping in town (if you have time), then transfer to Kilimanjaro airport by private car.
