What Makes This Trip Special?

This itinerary offers a rare combination of adventure and wildlife, starting with a six-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Following the scenic Marangu Route, you will hike through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests teeming with wildlife to the alpine desert and the breathtaking glaciers near Uhuru Peak. The well-paced ascent includes an acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, increasing your chances of a successful summit while allowing you to fully experience the beauty of Kilimanjaro. Your journey is guided by experienced mountain guides and supported by a dedicated team of porters and chefs, ensuring a safe and comfortable trek.

After an exhilarating climb, your adventure continues with a wildlife safari in two of Tanzania’s most iconic national parks. You will start with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. This park also hosts a rich variety of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. The change from the high-altitude mountain environment to the vast African savannah allows you to unwind and immerse yourself in the beauty of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes.

Your safari culminates with an unforgettable visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in Africa. Descending into the crater, you will enter a natural sanctuary that supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino, large prides of lions, and thousands of grazing herbivores such as zebras and wildebeest. The crater’s permanent water sources attract animals year-round, offering exceptional game viewing opportunities. As you conclude your journey, you will leave with lasting memories of both the thrilling Kilimanjaro trek and the breathtaking safari experience.

This journey allows you to experience the incredible geographical variety of Tanzania. From the dense rainforests of Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes to the rugged volcanic terrain at its peak, followed by the vast golden plains of Tarangire and the lush, wildlife-filled caldera of Ngorongoro, each day of your trip offers a strikingly different environment. Whether trekking through misty forests, standing on Africa’s highest summit, or watching elephants roam beneath ancient baobabs, the scenery is nothing short of spectacular.

Throughout your journey, you will have the opportunity to interact with local communities and experience Tanzanian hospitality. Before your climb, you can explore the lively town of Arusha, known for its colorful markets and vibrant culture. On the mountain, your guides and porters will share their knowledge of local traditions, while your safari experience will introduce you to the Maasai people, who have lived in harmony with wildlife for generations. These cultural encounters add depth to your adventure, giving you a true sense of Tanzania’s heritage and way of life.
