Arusha National Park

Highlight

Arusha National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is a compact yet diverse park covering approximately 137 square kilometers. It is renowned for its varied landscapes, including the towering Mount Meru, the Ngurdoto Crater, and the Momella Lakes. Mount Meru, standing at 4,566 meters, is the second-highest peak in Tanzania and offers challenging yet rewarding treks with stunning views.

The park is home to a rich array of wildlife, such as giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and various primates like the black-and-white colobus monkey and the blue monkey. While leopards are present, they are rarely seen. Birdlife is prolific, with species like the Narina trogon and bar-tailed trogon being highlights for visiting birders.

Situated just a short drive from Arusha City, Arusha National Park is easily accessible and serves as an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy activities such as game drives, walking safaris, and canoeing on the Momella Lakes.
