Day by day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Central Serengeti

Your African adventure begins around 8 AM as you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha. You will be driven to Serengeti National Park. The journey will take approximately 7 hours. Along the way, your expert Utmost Expeditions driver-guide will take good care of you throughout the day, enjoying the chance to share his knowledge with you. You’ll take in the changing landscape as Arusha’s urban jungle is replaced by wide open plains and quaint Masai villages. Checking in at the park offers a good chance to spot the Big 5 wild animals as well as enjoy the breathtaking view of the Serengeti plains. After you will be driven to your accommodations to relax, have dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After morning breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area your lunch was well packed in a lunch box. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera in the world. It’s surrounded by a magnificent landscape view and nature. Consists of various wild animals and different bird species. Your day will end up with a delicious dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Arusha

As this will be the last day of your African adventure, you will opt to wake up early. After early breakfast, you will depart around 6:30 AM driven into the crater floor. The floor stretches about 260 sq km with a depth of over 2000 feet. During the game drive, you will be able to spot unpredictable moments in the wild. Ngorongoro crater is the only park with an easy opportunity to spot the big five wild animals on the same day. Apart from the big five, you will spot other several animals such as Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, warthog. You will have your picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool. After your full-day game viewing, you will be driven back to Arusha for departure.

  • Online via the eVisa system.
  • On arrival at major airports (JRO, DAR, ZNZ).
  • In advance from a Tanzanian embassy or consulate.

Cost:

  • $50 for most nationalities.
  • $100 for U.S. citizens.

Passport requirements:

  • Valid for at least six months beyond travel dates.
  • At least one blank page for entry stamps.

  • Advance booking is highly recommended, especially for peak seasons (June–October & December–February).
  • A deposit is typically required to confirm a reservation.
  • Full payment is usually due weeks before departure.
  • Upon confirmation, you will receive:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Full refund minus the deposit.
  • 30–59 days before departure: 50% refund.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: No refund.

  • Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) in Zanzibar

From these airports, you can take a domestic flight to JRO with Air Tanzania, Precision Air, or Coastal Aviation.

Important Requirments

Weight Limit:

Domestic flights in Tanzania have strict baggage limits, typically 15 kg (33 lbs) per person, including carry-on.

Bag Type:

Soft-sided duffel bags are recommended for easy storage on small aircraft and safari vehicles.

Prohibited Items:

Avoid packing plastic bags as they are banned in Tanzania.
Additional Charges: Excess baggage fees may apply if you exceed the airline’s weight limit.

Vaccinations:

  • Yellow fever vaccination is required if traveling from or transiting through an endemic country.
  • Recommended vaccinations: Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Tetanus, and Rabies (for those spending extended time in remote areas).

Malaria Prevention:
